Councillor Ward 1

As Councillor Eleanor wants to be available to residents. Eleanor wants to help residents with RM related issues and help solve problems. Eleanor wants to be a voice for fairness and respect for residents. Councillor Link will listen and represent the residents of ward one and the residents of the municipality fairly. She will contribute to decision making and will provide oversight on decisions. She believes that residents’ needs must be a municipal priority. Inclusive long term planning is crucial for the good of our community.

Eleanor and her husband, Ralph, have lived in West St. Paul for over 30 years. They have been married 42 years.  Their son grew up in this community and attended West St. Paul School. He is married with four children of his own. Eleanor taught elementary school full time for 35 years both as a classroom teacher and a specialist. Eleanor has a Bachelor of Arts Degree, a Bachelor of Education Degree and a Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Education. She served as Treasurer on the Board of the Reading Council of Greater Winnipeg and received a lifetime membership for long term service. Eleanor believes that her combined work and volunteer experiences give her skills needed to perform the job of Councillor.

Eleanor attended council meetings regularly for several years and her interest in local government grew. Other interests include gardening, nature, stained glass work and reading. She was an avid curler for twenty five years and loved square dancing, but her knees did not!
